Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is devoted to the committment of being drug free.  The following pledges are a great way to remind yourself of the importance of staying drug free.

The following Drug-Free Pledge is used at the K - 4 level:
It's without a doubt -it's easy to see
My future is bright
and I have places to be.
I'm proud to share my choice
that is important to me -
I'm someone you can always count on
to be drug free!

The following Drug-Free Pledge is used at the 5 - 6 level:
I understand how dangerous alcohol and other drugs can be for my body and my mind.
Therefore, I pledge to be responsible and never use any unlawful drug.
I also pledge to share my knowledge about the dangers of drugs with others
who are unaware of how harmful they can be.
I can be trusted to keep this pledge because I value life very much
and I know that there are better things to do than drugs.

Making Transitions Easier

The Partnership for a Drug Free America is working to help kids have an easier time transitioning from one school to another or dealing with stressful school situations. Military families are especially affected by multiple moves. With the help of parents, the Partnership believes kids will have an easier time during school. Their research has been targeted at coming up with information to reduce stress and help keep kids drug and alcohol-free during stressful times.They've introduced a tool kit that is meant to help families deal with transitions more easily. Read about it here. 

Music from Elsberry Middle School
