Itching for Summer

Litter

Being outdoors and playing in nature can lead to an itchy situation if you get into a batch of poison ivy.  The leaves contain a substance that, if you're allergic to, can cause a major irritating rash. It starts itching and if you start scratching, you could end up scarring yourself or spreading it to other areas of your body.  The best way to avoid getting poison ivy is to avoid coming in contact with a poison ivy plant. There's a saying that goes leaves of three, let them be.  Remember it.  And avoid contact with plants that fit that description.

World Environment Day

Litter World Environment Day is celebrated this month. There's no better time to talk about how important it is to keep the environment clean.  The spring and summer months are the most popular for visits to the beach and parks.  Do your part to keep them clean by throwing away any trash you have in a trash can, not on the ground. Littering can not only affect the appearance of an area, but can impact its wildlife, soil and safety. Stay clean to help the earth stay green.
