National Cocoa Day

With the cold weather hanging on in Missouri, what better way to warm up than to have a nice cup of cocoa?  All you need is a cocoa packet and some water.  Add some marshmallows or a mint for extra flavor. Or give someone else a gift of cocoa for the holidays.  Package everything but the water up in a little ziplock or sandwich bag.  Put a little bow on it and voila, you've got a warm treat for your friends and family.

Holiday Ideas...With a Helpful Twist

Finding crafty things to do when it's cold outside isn't always easy, so we're working to find some ideas for you.  This one was discoverd on the Family Fun website.  It's called a helping hands wreath.  You can make for whichever holiday you celebrate this season. For every craft paper hand you make, write a suggestion of something helpful you can do for that day. Pull a hand out every day. By the time all the hands have been pulled from your wreath, it'll be Christmas or Kwanzaa or Hanukah...you decide.

Sending Holiday Cheer to Soldiers Over Seas

Many of our soldiers are away from home right now trying to protect those who need it the most.  Letting them know that the work they're doing is appreciated is a great way to spread holiday cheer.  An Oklahoma teacher came up with a plan and website to do just that.  It's called Kids 4 Troops.  You can use it to send your own letter to our soldiers.  Also feel free to share your thoughts about our military service men and women with KidsCast.  As always, we'll post what you write.
